In 2025, the FSB prevented the theft of funds from defense industry enterprises worth 30 billion rubles.

Last year, employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation prevented embezzlement in the sphere of the military-industrial complex (MIC) for a total amount of over 30 billion rubles and, in this regard, initiated over 700 criminal cases. This was announced on March 17 by a representative of the department in a video distributed by the department's Public Relations Center.

"In total, in 2025, as a result of work on such facts, more than 700 criminal cases were initiated, more than 200 persons were convicted. Damage in the amount of more than 30 billion rubles was prevented," he said.

It is emphasized that about 10 billion rubles were returned to the federal budget and a number of defense industry organizations. According to the representative, such activities of the agency for the detection and prevention of economic crimes have been carried out since the beginning of the special military operation, which in turn has significantly increased the financing of enterprises manufacturing demanded samples of weapons and military equipment.

"So, the operational units revealed facts about misleading representatives of the Russian defense industry enterprises and concluding fictitious contracts," he added.

A representative of the FSB of the Russian Federation said that the service is currently continuing to investigate a number of other similar criminal cases.

On the same day, the FSB Central Control Center announced the arrest in Moscow of two businessmen who stole over 460 million rubles from defense industry enterprises. Criminal proceedings were initiated in accordance with Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud"). The defendants are currently in custody.
