Air defense systems destroyed 14 drones over the southwestern regions of the Leningrad Region and the coast of the Gulf of Finland. This was announced on March 17 by the governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko.

"On the morning of March 17, 14 enemy UAVs were destroyed over the southwestern regions of the Leningrad region, the southern and northern coasts of the Gulf of Finland," he wrote on the MAX messenger.

According to him, in the Vyborg district, when the wreckage of a drone fell in the pipeline area, a standard automatic emergency system was activated. The governor stressed that there were no casualties or damage.

The new UAV will be able to stay in the air for months at an altitude of more than 15 km, providing front-line communications.

Prior to this, the governor of the region reported the destruction of nine drones. The first four drones were shot down over the Leningrad region in the early morning of the same day. Later, two more UAVs were eliminated there.
