More than 14 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in the Irkutsk region

Over the past week, more than 14.2 thousand residents of the Irkutsk region turned to doctors with signs of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI). This is reported by IA IrkutskMedia with reference to the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.

The incidence rate was below the epidemic threshold by 47%. A total of 12 cases of influenza have been identified.

Doctors recommend local residents to follow preventive measures, including washing their hands more often, using masks in public places and wet cleaning of premises.

Over the past week, an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza was recorded in 20 Russian regions. Nevertheless, experts believe that there will be no new wave of morbidity in the country.
