A suspect in the murder of a Muscovite football player was arrested.
The Tushinsky District Court has arrested Daniil Sekach, a 20-year-old defender of the Ural football club, suspected of murdering a Moscow businesswoman. This was announced on March 16 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
According to the court, the body of a woman with multiple injuries was found in an apartment on Stroginsky Boulevard on March 14. A safe with signs of forced entry was also found there.
It is reported that the underage daughter of the deceased became a victim of telephone scams and let a conman into the house, who told her to give access to the safe and detain her mother. As soon as the woman returned home, the attacker stabbed her in front of the child, and then fled with the money and jewelry.
The football player stated that his actions were led by curators who identified themselves as law enforcement officers.

On March 14, Ural coach Evgeny Averyanov told Izvestia that Sekach had asked to leave for Moscow to resolve issues at the university. According to him, the football player left on Thursday, March 12. The athlete was expected back on Monday, March 16.
On March 16, the president of Ural, Grigory Ivanov, announced that the club was temporarily ceasing to pay the salary to the Cleaver. He noted that the final decision on the fate of the player will be made after the court issues a verdict. If the Cleaver is acquitted, the club will have to re-decide on his employment.
