The Supreme Court upheld the verdict of Dmitry Shatresov, convicted of collaborating with foreign intelligence. This was announced on March 16 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

The defense's complaint was rejected. According to the investigation, the man, having information obtained illegally and constituting state secrets, intended to transfer them to a representative of American intelligence.

In January last year, he was detained by officers of the FSB of the Russian Federation while trying to transfer classified materials.

On January 22 last year, the Moscow City Court sentenced Shatresov to 17 years in a high-security penal colony and a fine of 100,000 rubles. It was clarified that the man would serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.
