The lack of energy resources has led to the fact that Indian crematoriums have stopped using gas, and restaurants do not cook deep-fried foods. The Financial Times newspaper wrote about this on March 16.

"The war between the United States and Israel against Iran has led to disruptions in energy supplies around the world, but South Asia, which is heavily dependent on gas supplies from the Persian Gulf countries, has suffered the most," the article says.

The newspaper writes that despite calls from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi "not to panic," people in the country are actively buying up liquefied natural gas, which is used for cooking.

In addition, according to the newspaper, in Pakistan, civil servants were transferred to a four-day week, and in Bangladesh universities were closed and exams were canceled. A spokesman for the head of Bangladesh, Tariq Rahman, said that the prime minister does not turn on all the lamps in his office and practically does not use air conditioning. He notes that such savings are observed throughout the country.

Indian Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Rajesh Agarwal said on March 16 that the country had increased its oil purchases from Russia. Agarwal clarified that this happened against the background of interruptions in energy supplies from the Middle East due to the military operation of the United States and Israel against Iran.
