The JAC brand may abandon the J7 liftback in Russia
Stocks of JAC J7 cars in Russia are coming to an end, but the resumption of deliveries of the model to the country is questionable. The company is currently focused on localization of cars, but there are no plans to assemble the J7 in Russia yet, according to March 16, "Auto Magazine.<url>" with reference to the brand's press service.
"Today, the company's strategy is aimed at localizing our product line, where the focus is still on other models. As for the J7, we don't have such a solution for liftback yet," the company's representatives said.
There are still several dozen JAC J7s on sale in Russia, all of them released in 2023. According to Autostat Info, since the beginning of 2026, only two such liftbacks have been registered. It is assumed that in the near future the J7 will be removed from the Russian line of the brand.
The JAC J7 costs from 2.09 million rubles, excluding discounts. The liftback is equipped with a 1.5-liter 136-horsepower turbo engine in conjunction with a CVT. The brand's range also includes JS3 and JS6 crossovers, T8, T8 Pro and T9 pickups, and the RF8 minivan. In the II–III quarter of 2026, the line should be replenished with a new JS9 SUV.
Earlier that day, it was reported that Bestune had completed sales of the T55 crossover in Russia. At the same time, the model range of the Chery brand in Russia has also decreased, and the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max crossover has disappeared from the brand's official website. Information about the Tiggo 4 compact crossover has also disappeared from the brand's website.
