Two American strike aircraft carriers in the Red and Arabian Seas have been moved to a distance that excludes their defeat by missile systems of Iran and the Yemeni Houthis. This was announced on March 16 by the Defense Security Asia (DSA) portal.

"Satellite images published by MizarVizion indicate the sudden redeployment of two US Navy aircraft carrier groups in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, indicating an adjustment of naval forces in response to escalating operational risks off the coast of Iran and in proxy threat zones," the material says.

According to the newspaper, the USS Gerald R. Ford has shifted to the south in the central part of the Red Sea near the port of Jeddah. Analysts believe that this position is beyond the range of the Houthi anti-ship missiles.

The USS Abraham Lincoln was also deployed to the waters southwest of Oman, increasing the distance to the Iranian coast to more than 1,1 thousand km, which previously was less than 350 km.

It is noted that this is not about the withdrawal of forces, but about a redistribution while maintaining the ability to launch air strikes, but while reducing vulnerability to coastal missile systems and low-cost weapons.

On the same day, a representative of the central headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces (AF), Khatam al-Anbiya, said that Iran considers the presence of the US aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford in the Red Sea to be a security threat. It is noted that the Iranian armed forces also consider as a target the logistics centers that serve the aircraft carrier and the US navy in the Red Sea.
