The United States authorities expect that in a few months global oil prices may fall below $ 80 per barrel, the country's Finance Minister Scott Bessent said on March 16.

According to the head of the department, the current fluctuations in oil prices are temporary.

"I think they will probably become much, much lower," Bessent said in an interview with CNBC.

Bessent also denied rumors that the Ministry of Finance or any other government agency could intervene to try to lower oil prices.

Alexander Schneiderman, head of Alfa-Forex's customer support and sales department, announced on the same day that oil prices would range from $84 to $110 per barrel of Brent this week. According to him, Brent crude futures for June-August deliveries have already exceeded $90 per barrel.

The British Unheard portal reported on March 9 that the US and Israeli military operation contributed to Russia's return to the global oil market. The correspondent on March 12 explained that the withdrawal of Russian oil sales from US sanctions is aimed at reducing the cost of energy resources on world markets.
