In Ukraine, they reported the use of AI by a drone that crashed in Kiev

The wreckage of a drone (UAV) that fell in the center of Kiev near the Independence Monument allegedly belongs to a Lancet drone equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced on March 16 by the Ukrainian arms consulting company Defense Express, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, unusual markings in the form of colored circles were found on the wreckage. DE claims that it is used to organize a "swarm" application, when devices interact with each other without operator involvement. It is also possible to use mesh modems, network systems where several devices operate on the principle of a single network.

The experts the company spoke to also do not rule out that the drone could have been brought closer to the target by another drone. However, the adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Sergei Beskrestnov, expressed doubt in his Telegram channel that it was the Lancet that fell in the center of Kiev.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on these reports.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that UAV debris fell on Independence Square in the center of Kiev. Due to the fall, smoke appeared at the monument. The speaker of the Kiev City Administration, Ekaterina Pop, assured that there were no casualties in the incident.
