The Progress MS-31 transport cargo ship undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) for subsequent flooding in the Pacific Ocean. This was announced by Roscosmos on March 16.

According to the state corporation, at 19:42 Moscow time, it is planned to turn on the ship's engine to decelerate for information from orbit. After entering the Earth's atmosphere, the ship will collapse, and its unburned elements will fall in a non-navigable area of the South Pacific Ocean.

Progress MS-31 arrived at the ISS on July 6, 2025, delivering more than 2.6 tons of cargo. The launch of the next Progress MS-33 cargo ship to the station is scheduled for March 22 from the Baikonur cosmodrome.

On March 10, Roscosmos announced the withdrawal of the ISS from Earth orbit starting in 2028. It was clarified that Russia is closely cooperating with the United States on the ISS issue. So, a meeting of representatives of Roscosmos and NASA is scheduled to take place this year.
