St. Petersburg will receive 80 million rubles from scooter rental
The budget of St. Petersburg received 37 million rubles due to the interaction of the city and kicksharing companies. These figures were announced by Alexandra Bakhmutskaya, deputy head of the Transport Committee of the Northern Capital.
Additional agreements are currently in the works, and the authorities expect to transfer almost 80 million more rubles by the end of 2025-26. All these funds will be used for the development of cycling infrastructure, she added.
"For the first time, together with kicksharing companies, we are preparing together for the start of the season. Firms are conducting test trips to check if everything is in order with the systems," Bakhmutskaya added, quoting her 78.ru .
The Smolny representative added that the possibility of parking in the historical city center will be closed this season. At the same time, the possibility of transit traffic will remain.
According to the official, the committee, together with the district administrations and kicksharing companies, is currently working on 40 points where it will be possible to park the scooter before entering the central zone.
Bakhmutskaya also reported that 40.5 million scooter rides were made in the Northern Capital in 2025. In total, citizens and guests of the city traveled 81.8 million km.
Earlier it was reported that the State Duma is working on further regulation of electric scooter riding. The deputies, in particular, are calling for the introduction of CTP for SIM drivers and the creation of special riding zones in the regions.
