The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) intends to check the actions of the provider of the Internet provider <url>, as well as the economic and technological justification of the restrictions imposed. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Internet provider "Dom.<url> has introduced speed limits for subscribers who consume more than 3 TB of traffic per month. These changes have affected users in St. Petersburg, Samara, and Yekaterinburg since February 2026.

Now, if the monthly traffic volume exceeds 3 TB, the speed of the wired Internet is automatically reduced to 50 Mbit/s until the end of the billing period. ER-Telecom Holding explained that such volumes are most often typical for commercial activities of users, rather than for personal use of the Internet.

It is noted that about 85% of subscribers consume less than 500 GB of traffic per month, so restrictions may affect less than 1% of the customer base. Customers who exceed the limit can either pay extra to restore the previous speed, or wait for the beginning of the new month.

Maxim Korkin, head of the Moscow State Duma Committee on Transport and Road Complex and information Technologies, said on March 14 that temporary difficulties with mobile communications and Internet connection are possible in the Moscow region due to measures taken at the federal level to ensure security.
