The wife of a man trapped under the screws of a river tram in Moscow told about his rowing

The men who were hit by the propellers of a river tram while riding a sports boat on the Moskva River are veterans of rowing. Yulia, the victim's wife, told Izvestia about this on March 16.

"They were sailing on a boat for academic rowing. <...> The husband went to practice, they went out on the water. He said his partner didn't come out. He was able to swim out on his own, but he didn't," she explained.

Yulia clarified that the men regularly trained before work and performed at competitions.

The incident was reported on the same day by a source of Izvestia. The incident occurred opposite the Fili pier when the ship was backing up. According to preliminary data, one person was able to get ashore on his own, the second died when hit by a propeller.
