Ukraine's imposition of sanctions against 10 Russian Paralympians is absurd. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on March 16.

"These are yet another absurd action by the Kiev regime," Peskov said.

He also noted that such decisions by Kiev are not able to cast a shadow on the successful performance of Russian athletes at the 2026 Paralympic Games.

On March 15, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against 48 companies from Russia, Iran and China, as well as 140 citizens from these countries, including Paralympians. The sanctions imposed by Kiev include the blocking of assets on the territory of Ukraine, the termination of official visits, trade agreements, cultural exchanges and scientific cooperation, as well as the cancellation of licenses.
