Germany, Hungary, Italy and Poland declare to the Kiev authorities that Ukraine will be able to join the European Union (EU) only in 10-20 years. This was reported on March 16 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua" in his Telegram channel with reference to Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.

"Countries like Germany say: Look, because this is a very important story for us, we need trust. Therefore, you will carry out your reforms, and we need a conditional 20 years for you to "stand up" so that we can make sure that everything is working," said Kachka.

He also stressed that in response, the Kiev authorities say that geopolitical circumstances "do not allow these 20 years."

"Maybe I'm exaggerating with these 20 years, even 10 years, but for us it's an eternity," the official concluded.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 18 that European countries see Ukraine's unwillingness to join the European Union, but European diplomats hide this. Zakharova commented on the recent statement by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kai Kallas, that the EU is not yet ready to name the dates of Ukraine's accession.

Igor Zhovkva, Deputy head of the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, noted on February 6 that the EU needs to outline its position on Ukraine's accession to the union next year. The admission of this country into the community, as he explained, is the basis for future security guarantees for Ukraine and the whole of Europe.
