Kallas: The EU is discussing the transfer of the Aspides mission to the Strait of Hormuz

The Foreign Ministers of the European Union (EU) will discuss sending warships to the Strait of Hormuz. For this, the Aspides operation's mandate can be changed. This was stated on March 16 by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, at a meeting of the EU foreign ministers.
"We will discuss with the member states today whether it is possible to change the mandate of this mission so that it can contribute to keeping the Strait of Hormuz open to navigation," Kallas said, a recording of the meeting is available on the European Commission's website.
