Iran considers the presence of the US aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford in the Red Sea to be a security threat. This was stated on March 16 by the representative of the central headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces (AF) Khatam al-Anbiya.

"The presence of the American aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford in the Red Sea is considered a threat to Iran," the Fars news agency reported on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the Iranian armed forces also consider as a target the logistics centers that serve the aircraft carrier and the US navy in the Red Sea.

On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Iran intends to fight until US President Donald Trump is convinced of the fallacy of the aggression launched jointly with Israel. He stressed that statements about his country's alleged lack of aspirations for peace and negotiations are nonsense.

The Guardian newspaper yesterday pointed to the transfer of the initiative in the conflict from the United States to Iran. It was noted that at the moment, Israeli-American plans are under threat due to the fact that Tehran has taken an "unexpected step" by blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
