In the Sverdlovsk Region in 2026, the territorial compulsory medical insurance Fund (TFOMS) will pay special attention to the quality of medical examinations and preventive medical examinations. Special emphasis will be placed on the timely detection of oncological diseases and chronic pathologies.

According to Dmitry Tretyakov, Deputy director of the Foundation, the detection and prevention of the development of chronic diseases is one of the main indicators of the effectiveness of preventive measures. Thus, if after medical examinations, which did not reveal any pathologies, the patient finds himself in a hospital with stage III or IV oncology, this may indicate a formal approach to the examination, Tretyakov said. This situation is especially alarming in the diagnosis of "visual" forms of cancer. We are talking about neoplasms of the skin, cervix, mammary glands, mucous membranes or oral cavity.

Experts will also evaluate the quality of treatment for cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease and heart failure. During the year, they will check the compliance of the therapy with clinical recommendations and medical procedures.

IA " <url>" writes that every year specialists of the compulsory medical insurance system check and analyze about 0.5 million medical records of patients. As a result of the inspections, medical organizations may be sanctioned in the amount of up to 250 million rubles. The funds are again sent to the territorial compulsory medical insurance program to pay for medical care.

Part of the funds is used to replenish the fund's normalized insurance reserve in order to pay for the purchase and repair of equipment, and to improve the qualifications of doctors.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation denied reports of paid treatment for HIV and tuberculosis in the country. Treatment of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), tuberculosis and mental illnesses is included in the program of state guarantees of free medical care for citizens, Alexey Kuznetsov, Assistant to the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, assured. According to him, such treatment is funded by the federal and regional budgets. At the same time, patients receive the necessary medical care free of charge.
