The survey showed the impact of education on the personal lives of Russians
The desire for learning and self-development does not become an obstacle to a relationship. According to a study by VK Dating and Skillbox, the majority of Russians — 59% — are confident that they can build a personal life and get an education at the same time. The survey data was reviewed by Izvestia on March 17.
Over a third of Russians (37%) believe that learning helps relationships: there are new topics for conversation and ideas for joint leisure. For 31% of respondents, an intense academic workload, on the contrary, means less time for dating and dating. The same number of respondents admitted that they had repeatedly canceled dates because of studies, for example, exams, projects or term papers.
In addition, 51% of the survey participants believe that self-development and learning play an important, though not decisive, role in choosing a partner. At the same time, 32% of women emphasize that the development and education of a potential companion are of paramount importance to them. Among men, this figure is only 17%.
Educational events are increasingly becoming a dating platform: 58% of Russians positively perceive the opportunity to meet someone at such events, believing that common interests create a solid foundation for a relationship.
The survey participants also highlighted the qualities they pay attention to when choosing a partner. For men, character traits and appearance are equally important (22% each), followed by intelligence (18%) and the desire for self-development (15%). Women also have character in the first place (20%), followed by intelligence (16%) and interest in self-development (16%), while appearance ranks fourth (15%).
To date, the majority of respondents combine work with development: 60% work, 23% combine work and study, and 8% focus solely on learning. 69% of Russians are now focused on study, career or self-development, while for 31% of respondents, relationships and starting a family remain more important. A quarter of the participants (24%) noted that learning increases their self-confidence.
On March 9, the journal Medical Xpress reported that constant communication with people who create problems or complicate life can not only spoil the mood, but also accelerate biological aging. As practical advice, experts recommend limiting contact with those who cause stress and, if possible, devote more time to supportive and caring relationships.
