Lavrov noted the risk of militarization of outer space due to the actions of the United States

Due to the destructive actions of the United States in defense, the risks of militarization of outer space are increasing. This was announced on March 16 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"As a result of the destructive actions of the United States and its allies, the risks of militarization of outer space and its transformation into a conflict zone are noticeably increasing," he is quoted as saying in a video message to participants of the Moscow Conference on Nonproliferation on the Foreign Ministry's website.

According to Lavrov, a significant threat to strategic stability is posed by the implementation of the project to create the American Golden Dome missile defense system, which provides for the deployment of space-based interception weapons by 2028.
