Mobile electronic warfare (EW) groups of the 44th Army Corps of the North Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation disrupt attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on a daily basis The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Sumy area are conducting a special military operation (SVO), ensuring the protection of personnel and civilian infrastructure from enemy drone strikes. The relevant footage was shown by the Russian Defense Ministry on March 16.

"At the moment, we have left as part of a maneuverable UAV counteraction group, a certain point has been selected, and a calculation has been made. Upon arrival, they discovered the FPV, turned off the suppression and we successfully suppressed it. <...> There are emergency calls <...> In principle, now, with the onset of warming, they have become very active, there are a lot of departures," said an electrician with the call sign Chaika.

Mobile electronic warfare groups quickly calculate and suppress enemy drone channels due to the daily deployment of temporary posts that monitor stop changes in the air. It clarifies that the main tactic of such groups is a methodical change of positions, which helps to avoid collisions with the enemy and remain unnoticed, while maintaining effectiveness.

"We looked at the frequencies — the FPV is flying. Suppression was turned on, and the FPV was successfully suppressed. They often fly into the city, beat civilians, beat cars a lot. <...> Because of this, most of us go to settlements, to cities and stand with electronic warfare," said the squad commander with the call sign Taipan.

The Defense Ministry stressed that the main task of the group is to disrupt enemy UAV attacks even as they approach the target. It is noted that domestic means of communication are used for stable management and coordination of EW groups. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of specialists, the threat to the civilian population is minimized, and safe logistics in the border areas is ensured.
