Two people have died as a result of an outbreak of invasive meningitis in the UK. This was reported on March 15 by the newspaper The i Paper with reference to the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA).

"Two people have died after an outbreak of invasive meningitis at the University of Kent," the article says.

It is specified that 11 more students are in the hospital. Some of them were prescribed antibiotics despite the fact that the exact strain of infection has not yet been established. UKHSA has informed more than 30,000 students and their families about the emergency situation.

The Daily Express reported on January 30 that the UK has recorded a sharp increase in the incidence of tuberculosis in 2025. It was clarified that in its modern form, tuberculosis mainly affects only the lungs, causing coughing up blood and weight loss.
