The United States made the mistake of hoping to sow chaos in Iran by assassinating Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. This was announced on March 15 by the representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), General Sardar Naini.
"The American assessment was that with the death of the Supreme Leader, the country would undergo political disintegration. They expected rapid chaos inside the country and the creation of a large global coalition against Iran," SNN quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.
