Iranian law enforcement agencies have detained 500 people on suspicion of collaborating with Israel. This was announced on March 15 by the Chief of Police of the Islamic Republic, Ahmad Reza Radan.
"500 spies have been arrested for passing information to the enemy and anti—Iranian media," the Fars news agency quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.
It is specified that 250 out of 500 people provided information to the enemy for attacking targets and maintained contact with groups trying to disrupt public order.
Tasnim news agency reported on March 15 that Iranian law enforcement agencies detained 20 people in the city of Urmia, the administrative center of West Azerbaijan province in the north-west of the country, on suspicion of espionage and cooperation with Israeli intelligence services.
