Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on March 15 that as long as Viktor Orban remains Hungarian prime minister, Ukraine will not become a member of the European Union, nor will it receive Hungarian financial assistance or support in the form of soldiers.

Szijjarto stressed that Brussels, Berlin and Kiev are well aware that Hungary will remain out of the armed conflict while Orban holds office.

"We will not allow a single soldier or young man to enter the Ukrainian front. And as long as Viktor Orban is prime minister, Hungarian money will not be sent to Ukraine, and Ukraine will never, ever join the European Union," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

On the same day, Orban said that Brussels was seeking to drive future generations of Europeans into debt in order to support Ukraine. According to him, financial resources have dried up there, and now they are trying to compensate for the deficit with the money of Hungarians.
