A criminal case has been opened in Moscow over the collision of two trams in the capital. This was announced on March 15 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles")," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that the head of the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee in Moscow must submit a report on the criminal investigation.
An accident involving two trams became known earlier that day. The incident occurred on the understudy of the Volokolamsk highway. There are five children among the injured.
Later, the Moscow Department of Transport reported that the cause of the accident involving trams in the north-west of Moscow, which injured 22 people, was a malfunction in the car control system.
