A malfunction in the control system caused an accident with trams in Moscow.
An accident involving trams in the north-west of Moscow, which injured 22 people, was caused by a malfunction in the carriage control system. This was announced on March 15 by the Moscow Department of Transport in the Telegram channel.
"We are continuing a detailed study of the situation with tram accidents on Vodnikov Street. A commission of experts from the Moscow Metro and the manufacturing company determined that the cause of the incident was a malfunction in the car's control system," the department stressed.
The tramcar manufacturer's service company is currently conducting an additional survey of all similar systems in all wagons in this series in order to eliminate similar situations in the future.
The department also noted that the tram was operated by an experienced driver with 23 years of experience.
"She acted professionally and correctly, in strict accordance with her job description," the statement said.
An accident involving two trams became known earlier that day. The incident occurred on the understudy of the Volokolamsk highway. There are five children among the injured.
