Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has announced his intention to take part in Victory Day celebrations in Moscow again. He announced this in a video message posted on the YouTube channel of his Smer party.

"I will take part in the Victory over Fascism celebration in Moscow on May 9," he said.

The politician added that on June 6 he intends to attend a ceremony in Normandy dedicated to thanking the soldiers who entered France in 1944 as part of the opening of the second front.

On January 18, Fico said that the EU member states forbade him to fly over their territories when he was heading to Russia to celebrate Victory Day in Moscow. However, now "thousands of people are talking about the need to have a dialogue with Moscow."

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
