Iran has declared its readiness to use any methods to control Hormuz.
A representative of the central headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Khatam al-Anbiya, said on March 15 that Iran was ready to use any methods, including monitoring the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, to force the enemy to surrender.
"The armed forces <...> are determined to use all geopolitical opportunities, including the management and control of passage through the strategic Strait of Hormuz," the Fars news agency quoted him as saying in a Telegram channel.
The headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces added that they are ready to use all methods to "bring the enemies of the Islamic Republic to their knees."
The press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on March 11 that Iran would not allow any oil tankers related to the United States and its allies to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi added on March 14 that the strait remains open to navigation, but is restricted to ships of the United States, Israel and their allies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on March 9 that oil production, which is tied to the Strait of Hormuz, risks stopping completely in the coming month.
