In 2026, American oil companies can make excess profits of more than $60 billion if oil prices remain at the same level as they have been since the beginning of the Iranian war. This was reported on March 15 by the Financial Times newspaper.

According to estimates by Jefferies investment bank, in March alone, American producers will receive additional money in the amount of $5 billion after oil prices have increased by about 47% since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East.

"If oil prices in the United States remain high and average $100 per barrel this 2026, companies will receive an additional $63.4 billion from oil production," the material says.

According to the newspaper, the additional inflow of funds should benefit American shale companies.

Alexander Schneiderman, head of Alfa-Forex's customer support and sales department, told Izvestia on March 4 that the escalation of the conflict over Iran had thrown the oil market off balance, but the scenario of a sharp price spike to $100-120 per barrel has not yet been realized. According to him, the geopolitical premium is already partially embedded in the quotes. In the short term, the base price range for Brent crude oil is in the range of $80-85 per barrel.
