The Israeli authorities have informed the United States about problems with stocks of interceptor missiles needed to destroy ballistic missiles. This was reported on March 15 by the Semafor portal, citing an American official.

"Israel informed the United States this week that it has critically reduced stocks of interceptors against ballistic missiles at a time when the conflict with Iran is escalating," the newspaper writes.

It is noted that this situation was foreseen and expected by Washington. According to the portal, Israel entered the fighting, already having few interceptor missiles, which it spent during the conflict with Iran in the summer of 2025. It is clarified that the intention of the United States to transfer or sell ammunition from its stockpile is unclear. The official added that his side does not have the same deficits, and Israel is already offering options to solve the shortage of interceptors.

According to estimates by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Washington spent over 150 THAAD interceptor systems during the 12 days of conflict with Iran in June 2025, which at that time accounted for about a quarter of the total arsenal of these munitions. The publication notes that in the first five days of the current clash, the United States spent $2.4 billion worth of Patriot missile systems.

The Telegraph newspaper reported on March 14 that Britain could send thousands of Octopus unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to its allies in the Middle East. According to the publication, these drones will be used against the Iranian "Shahids". It clarifies that sending the UAVs can be seen as an attempt by Starmer to counter criticism of American leader Donald Trump for Britain's weak support of its allies in the conflict with Iran.
