The Ministry of Health named the average age of cancer in Russia
In Russia, the average age of cancer is about 65 years. This was announced on March 15 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Director General of the NMIC of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Andrey Kaprin.
"The main peak in the initial detection of the disease still occurs in the older age group. The average age of patients is about 65 years," Kaprin said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He also added that over the past 10 years, the average age of cancer patients has increased by just one year, from 64 to 65 years.
Alexander Sysoev, oncourologist at SM Clinic, said on March 14 that frequent cystitis and prostatitis, which many patients have been treating on their own for years, can increase the risk of developing bladder cancer. According to the expert, chronic infections can cause inflammation in the pelvic organs, which weakens the protection of the bladder and disrupts cellular renewal.
