Senior Sergeant Alvydas Launikonis joined the battle and eliminated two militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with aimed weapons in the area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on March 15.

The senior sergeant was carrying out a combat mission to hold a stronghold captured from the enemy. Under the cover of mortar fire, enemy units launched an offensive to retake the point and attack the Russian attack aircraft.

Being on the front line, Launikonis promptly detected the movement of the enemy, took up an advantageous position and joined the battle. Showing determination and restraint, he destroyed two soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with targeted fire from weapons, preventing their attempt to outflank. Despite the mortar attack, the senior sergeant continued to fight and hold the occupied area. During the attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), one of the Russian servicemen was seriously injured. Launikonis provided him with first aid, after which he evacuated the wounded man to a safe area on his own, and thereby saved his life.

Thanks to the heroism and professional skills of the senior sergeant, the Russian assault grappa successfully repelled the attack in this area, preventing the enemy from breaking through and saving the life of his comrade.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the combat skills of Private Alexander Vasinsky, who performed the tasks of delivering logistical equipment to Russian units located on the line of combat contact.

Under the leadership of the private, the motorized rifle unit's supply group transported ammunition, equipment and food to the area of the forward positions.

While driving along the route, Vasinsky noticed two approaching enemy UAVs. After assessing the situation, he ordered the driver to shelter the transport in the nearest forest belt and organized the defense of the equipment. Before the drone attack, the private opened fire with a weapon and destroyed one of the drones. The second drone was hit by the driver.

Thanks to the coordinated actions and courage of an ordinary soldier, the Russian military continued to carry out combat missions, significantly improving their position on the front line.

The ministry also noted the combat skills of Corporal Erdeni Mandalov, who carried out the supply of ammunition and the rotation of personnel to the positions of artillery crews.
