Writer Roy declared the impossibility of AI to replace the authors of books
Currently, there are ongoing debates about the correctness of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in creativity, and this discussion has especially affected writers. The writer Oleg Roy shared his opinion about this on March 15 in an interview with Izvestia.
He noted that despite the fact that AI is developing rapidly and is beginning to occupy leading positions in various fields, this does not mean that the result will have the quality of real creativity. Roy emphasized that artificial intelligence can continue the creative work of a writer, but it will be a sublimation of his thoughts rather than genuine creativity. He noted that after the writer's death, such technologies may be useful for continuing his work, but fans will feel the difference and notice that this is not exactly the same author.
"Artificial intelligence will do something a la Oleg Roy. Will it be me? For those who know me, for my editors, for my people who read to me, they will still find mistakes and realize that it is not me, but artificial intelligence that is working," he said.
Writer Daria Dontsova also shared her opinion on the role of artificial intelligence in creativity. According to her, the key aspect of a work of art is the emotions of the author, which are conveyed to the reader. AI can create works following the correct canons, but they will lack the human element that makes the work alive and attractive to the reader.
"It's not about the fees. No, it's not that it's art. The fact is that these are the emotions of the author," the writer clarified.
Dontsova emphasized that artificial intelligence is not able to reproduce this emotional connection between the author and the reader. She gave the example of ballet, where technically perfect ballerinas do not evoke the same emotions in the viewer as those who do not always perform their movements perfectly, but convey their soul through dance.
Ilya Rusyaev, a business consultant and founder of the Rusyaev Club business community, spoke on February 19 about the impact of AI on the music market in Russia. According to him, for real artists, songs created by the neural network create financial risk and struggle for the audience's attention.
The share of Russians who are afraid of the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and neural networks has increased to 27% by the end of 2025, compared to 15% a year earlier. As clarified on February 17, AI has been ranked first among the most disturbing areas of scientific progress for the third year in a row. At the same time, the gap with other categories has increased significantly in 2025.
