Orban thanked God for the absence of hostility between Hungary and Russia
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban thanked God on March 14 that Russia was not his country's enemy.
"I thank God that the country with which you are currently in conflict is not an enemy of Hungary or the Hungarian people, and we do not intend to change this," Orban said in response to an open letter from former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko.
The Prime Minister also asked to convey to the current President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, that he will achieve nothing by blackmail and threats.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on March 13 that Hungary was not dancing to Zelensky's tune, unlike the Baltic states, and would also "not succumb to the blackmail" of the president of Ukraine. He noted that the Hungarian side resists the blackmail of the leader of the Kiev regime and defends its sovereignty.
