The administration of US President Donald Trump does not want to escalate the conflict with Tehran and provoke an even greater increase in oil prices, and therefore refused to strike oil facilities on the Iranian island of Kharq. This was announced on March 14 by the BBC television channel.

According to military and analysts, attacks on the island's infrastructure could cause significant damage to Iran, which in turn would lead to an increase in world oil prices.

"It may also lead to Iran's further targeting of the oil infrastructure in the Middle East," the article says.

On March 13, Trump announced that the US Armed Forces had destroyed all military targets located on the Iranian island of Kharq. He added that the American military did not begin to strike at the oil infrastructure on the island.
