Gazprom reports minimal gas reserves in Europe
The level of reserves in European underground gas storage facilities (UGS) has reached its lowest level since the beginning of the season. Gazprom announced this on March 14 in its Telegram channel.
"Gas extraction from European underground storage facilities continues, according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe on March 12. The stock level has reached the lowest level since the beginning of the selection season — 29.1%," the report says.
The company noted that all the gas pumped into Europe's UGS facilities in preparation for winter was taken away in February. Now there is a selection process from the reserves of previous years.
Gazprom reported on February 26 that the gas level in the Baltic gas farms had dropped below 20%, reaching its lowest level in the last five years. It is specified that the volume of selected gas was 1.5 times higher than the volume of injection in the summer. Gazprom noted that such a low level may affect the reliability of gas supply, since the heating season has not yet been completed.
