In Namibia, a 46-year-old woman died after an elephant, which she mistakenly thought was dead, attacked her. This is reported by the Daily Star newspaper.
As it became known, one of the locals shot the animal in the leg, and the people gathered decided that it was dead. Claudia Mwaala approached the elephant to take a photo with him. She touched his head and asked him to take a picture. At that moment, the elephant suddenly got up and attacked the woman.
"She suffered serious injuries, her internal organs were severely damaged. She died on the spot," said an eyewitness to the incident. An investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
