Military actions in the Middle East have already forced the South Korean authorities to adjust the country's energy policy, Russian Ambassador to Seoul Georgy Zinoviev told Izvestia. Experts in the Republic of Korea are reminded of Russia's reliability as an energy supplier.

"Against the background of the conflict in the Middle East, which has a negative impact on the global energy market, local expert circles note that Russia is a reliable supplier of energy resources to its traditional partners, such as China and India, which did not support the anti—Russian sanctions of the collective West," the ambassador said.

The conflict in the Middle East has already affected the energy sector of South Korea, as the countries of the region remain the main source of hydrocarbons, meeting up to 90% of the needs of the national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"Currently, the country's authorities are implementing a set of measures aimed at ensuring sustainable energy supplies to local consumers, including temporary regulation of gas station prices and the use of strategic reserves of oil and petroleum products in order to prevent sharp price fluctuations in the energy market," Zinoviev said.
