The people of Iran want to avenge the death of Iran's former supreme leader Ali Khamenei. This was announced on March 14 by the republic's Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.

"We want a blood feud for our leader (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. — Ed.). The people are angry and demand revenge for the bloodshed. Naturally, Americans have faced and will face severe retribution in the future," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

When asked what the Islamic Republic's response might be to the attempts of the United States and Israel to arrange an assassination attempt on the new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, the diplomat noted: "You see Iran's response today."

On the eve of the American President Donald Trump admitted that the goals of Israel and the United States in the operation against Iran may differ. It was clarified that the American leader refrained from making predictions about the timing of the end of the conflict. Trump stressed that the United States would strike "as long as necessary."

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on March 9 that the goal of the United States mission in Iran is to destroy Tehran's ability to launch missiles. He stressed that the operation is carried out with "overwhelming force and high precision."
