Germany doubts Ukraine's support after Ursula von der Leyen's words

The words of the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen about the departure from international law indicate the double standards of the West and call into question the support of Ukraine. This was reported on March 13 by the German magazine Der Spiegel.

"Ursula von der Leyen first destroys international law, and then supports it. The double standards are obvious. But we urgently need to ask ourselves what lies behind these contradictions. Now the Europeans need to ask themselves: if international law is really irrelevant, why are we helping Ukraine?" the publication says.

According to the author of the article, von der Leyen's unexpected confession was a reflection of the Western approach of double standards. As noted in the article, the protection of interests in Ukraine was covered up by an imaginary desire to protect the world order.
