Travel agencies in Romania have been banned from selling tickets to Moscow. This was stated on March 14 by Russian Ambassador to Romania Vladimir Lipaev.

"There is pressure on service providers to force them to refuse to cooperate with us or to make this cooperation as unprofitable as possible for us. Travel agencies are prohibited from selling flights to Moscow," he said in an interview with TASS.

Lipaev added that this is far from the only difficulty deliberately created by the Romanian side. Bucharest has restricted access to full-fledged banking services, imposed restrictions on movement within the Schengen area, and regularly delays or disrupts the issuance of visas. The Ambassador noted that the Russian Center for Science and Culture and the school at the embassy were forced to stop their work.

On the same day, Lipaev announced that a new NATO logistics center had started operating in Romania. According to him, the fact that Romania is one of the key transit countries for the delivery of weapons to the territory of Ukraine has long been known. This time, Bucharest is using its own transport infrastructure to create a new military center, positioning this as an important step towards strengthening its role in the NATO structure.

The Romanian Ministry of National Defense announced on December 20 that the Bucharest authorities are going to open a second-largest logistics center for arms supplies to Kiev in January 2026. According to the ministry, the creation of a new logistics hub is aimed not only at ensuring a backup flow, but also at "strengthening the logistical stability of the entire eastern flank" of NATO.
