A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iran's new leader Mojtaba Khamenei may take place during the Caspian Summit in Tehran this year. This was announced on March 14 by the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali.

"Of course, all this should be left for a time when we pass this period (of the current conflict between the United States and Israel with Iran. — Ed.). In any case, we have set a date for the Caspian Summit in Tehran, which will be held this year. If this summit takes place, I think meetings will be held there, as is usually the case," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
