The PCT proposed to create a common fund to help tourists

The Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) has proposed the creation of a guarantee fund to assist in the evacuation of tourists stranded abroad. The money to this fund, according to the idea, will come from contributions from citizens who travel abroad. This was announced on March 13 by the President of the PCT Ilya Umansky.

"We advocate the further development of a mechanism to protect the interests of our tourists abroad and propose the creation of an industry fund that would be filled "for a penny" from each tourist, regardless of how he went abroad — independently or through a tour operator," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
