General practitioner, PhD Andrey Kondrakhin said that weather dependence can be an indicator of hidden diseases.

In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, March 13, the specialist explained that the diagnosis of "weather dependence" does not exist in the International Classification of Diseases — it is rather a colloquial term. There is no consensus in the scientific community: some experts believe that changes in the environment can really affect a person's well-being, while others believe that a healthy body can easily adapt to such fluctuations. At the same time, studies show that even healthy people sometimes experience discomfort.

According to the doctor, weather dependence is most often not an independent disease, but may indicate hidden health problems. Magnetic storms become an additional burden on the body, which can cause previously unnoticeable disturbances. The doctor noted that during such periods latent hypertension, migraines, headaches, pressure surges, heart failure or general malaise may worsen. In this case, a magnetic storm only becomes a catalyst.

The doctor stressed that the deterioration of health during magnetic storms should not be ignored. According to him, such symptoms can be a signal of hidden problems, so if they appear, it is better to consult a doctor and undergo an examination.

Earlier, on March 13, the head of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) RAS Sergey Bogachev warned of the most powerful magnetic storm since the beginning of March. According to him, the power of the magnetic storm that will cover the Earth on the night of March 14 will reach an average level (G2 on a five—point scale) - this is the highest indicator since the beginning of spring, IA Regnum reports. According to the scientist, the period of disturbances in extraterrestrial space will last at least until the end of the week.

It is clarified that the source of the expected disturbances is a coronal hole of rather noticeable size and not quite typical shape — it looks more like a giant fault stretching from the South to the North Pole of the Sun than the more familiar outlines of butterflies and circles, writes RT.

An increase in the speed of the incoming solar wind stream is expected. Following this, geomagnetic indexes should start to grow, the Moscow City News agency clarifies.

The first geomagnetic disturbances may begin closer to midnight. If the forecast is confirmed, the likelihood of auroras will increase, the website clarifies. kp.ru . So far, no signs of strengthening of the solar wind have been recorded, however, scientists promise to inform if its parameters begin to change, notes 360.ru .

Earlier, internist Svetlana Kuprina told Izvestia about the impact of a magnetic storm on weather-dependent people. People with cardiovascular diseases (hypertension, coronary artery disease), neurological problems such as migraines, as well as endocrine disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system are usually the most sensitive to weather changes.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
