Nikolai Vikhansky, Vice President for Capital Construction at Atomstroyexport and director of the Beloyarsk NPP fifth power unit project, has been arrested in Moscow on charges of accepting bribes. The meeting of the Basmanny District Court was held on March 12, according to the file of the courts of general jurisdiction of the city of Moscow.

A criminal case has been opened against Vikhansky under Article Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe by an official on an especially large scale"). On March 12, a decision was made to detain him, and the court granted the request.

The decision of the Basmanny District Court will enter into force on March 17.

On March 13, the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Bryansk region announced the election of a punishment measure for the former deputy governor of the region, Alexander Petrochenko. The ex-official was sentenced to 10 years in prison under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Petrochenko will serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.
