The State traffic Inspectorate warned about mass raids in the regions of the Russian Federation

On March 13-15, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct mass and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to identifying motorists driving while intoxicated. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.

Traffic police officers will carry out preventive measures in the Ivanovo, Chelyabinsk, Vologda, Ivanovo, Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Lipetsk, Smolensk regions, as well as in the Komi Republic and other regions of the country.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recalled that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entail the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a heavy fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver faces criminal liability for these acts.

"On the eve of the weekend, we remind you about the inadmissibility of driving under the influence of alcohol. We kindly ask motorists to refrain from traveling after drinking alcoholic beverages and use taxis, public transport or the sober driver service if the CTP policy provides for an unlimited number of people allowed to drive a vehicle," said the deputy head of the Department of Road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Colonel police officer Anton Belan.

The State Traffic Inspectorate called on citizens who saw that a person with signs of intoxication was getting behind the wheel of a car or the driver was behaving inappropriately on the road to report this to the police. According to such reports, the traffic police will take all necessary response measures, the department noted.
