Turkey announced the interception of two Iranian ballistic missiles
Air raid sirens sounded at the US Incirlik airbase in Turkey after it was allegedly attacked by Iran using two ballistic missiles. This was reported on March 13 by the Turkish Anadolu agency.
"Sirens were heard at the Incirlik airbase in Turkey on Friday," the publication says.
The agency clarifies that earlier two ballistic missiles that were heading towards Turkey were intercepted by air defense systems.
The interception of the two by NATO forces was later confirmed by the Turkish Defense Ministry.
On March 9, NATO air defense systems shot down a ballistic missile in Turkish airspace fired from Iranian territory. After neutralization, the rocket fragments landed in an uninhabited area near Gaziantep. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on March 7 that Ankara warns Iran against the recurrence of missile attacks on Turkish territory. The diplomat also stated that Turkey stands for an early settlement of the conflict over Iran.
