Russia will launch cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of waste management. This was reported to Izvestia by the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) on March 13.

Representatives of the REO discussed with their colleagues from Uzbekistan issues of joint work and exchange of experience in the field of waste management, as well as expanded producer responsibility.

The meeting took place within the framework of the fifth meeting of the Russian-Uzbek working group on the implementation of the agreement between the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Nature Protection on cooperation in the field of environmental protection.

"The Uzbek side has confirmed its interest and willingness to share experiences. The parties agreed to develop bilateral cooperation, including additional meetings at the working level at future events in Russia and Uzbekistan," the REO said.

The REO experts held a presentation for their Uzbek colleagues, presented proposals for cooperation in the field of exchange of technological experience and investment cooperation, they concluded.

Last November, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid special attention to cooperation in the energy sector. It was noted that the leaders discussed interregional cooperation in strengthening trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
